Life is mathematical but in a probabilistic way

Life, many like to think, is deterministic and then get disillusioned. That is, do this get that. And then, when they “did it” but did not “get that” they get angry. Unfortunately life does not work like that.

Instead of being deterministic it is probabilistic and works like; do this and you probably might get that, and keep doing this over and over and learning from your mistakes and you will increase the probability of getting that, you still might not get that after all but there is a higher chance that you will.
Life is mathematical but not in the way many think
That is why you see the many greats in our world like nobel prize winning economists, powerful leaders, incredible writers, great actors and spellbinding musicians all expounding the virtues of working hard and going at it (“it” being what you have decided to be your goals in life) again and again. And why you see so few of those who say “Oh, I just tried my hand it at and it just happened perfectly on the first try”.

What this means for you is that whatever you do, or do not do, the effects of that will show up in your future, and the more you do or do not do something the higher probability of its effects becoming your reality. That is why, make it a habit of doing those things regularly that you really want to become a part of your reality. Because even the small short term “just for the fun of it, nothing serious” impact your life and slowly they shape your reality.

You do have the power to mould your life, but by small steps instead of giant leaps.
